Orchid Care Tips

Indoor plants like Orchids have become more than just a ”plant in the house”, in most houses, indoor plants have added to the interior design and décor. They add life and colour to the room. Depending on the plant it could even add contrast and texture to the room. Plants also show a healthy way of living, a clean way of living.

When it comes to Orchids, you need to ensure that they have three things. Once you have done that, they will be happy plants. Orchids like ample amounts of water, moisture and light. If you give your Orchids these three things and they will in return bloom every year.

With watering, your Orchid will enjoy a good amount of water, but allow the soil to dry between watering. Simply stick your finger about 3 cm into the soil, if it comes up dry, you can be sure your Orchid is thirsty.

Moisture or humidity needs to be between 50% to 70% for your Orchid to be happy. This could be done by simply misting your Orchid once a day, placing gel balls in a tray beneath the plant or making use of a humidifier.

Ensure you are giving your Orchid enough light. All plants require a certain amount of sunlight a day. Keep a lookout for any pests and insects on your plant and simply wash them off or spray with Insecticidal Soap.
